Synod Ecumenical Relationships Committee (SERC)

Ecumenism - Churches Together

That they may be one - John 17:21

“The Synod Ecumenical Relationships Committee seeks to encourage exploration of new possibilities of working ecumenically at Synod and congregational levels. SERC works in close association with the Assembly Christian Unity Working Group (CUWG), South Australian Council of Churches (SACC), Leaders of Christian Churches in SA (LOCCSA), the South Australian Dialogue of the Roman Catholic and Uniting Churches (SADRCUC) and sisters and brothers from other ecumenical bodies within the Christian faith.” SERC Terms of Reference

Building Partnerships in Christ

We invite congregations to establish partnerships with another congregation of another Christian tradition, and to discern the gifts each denomination brings to the other, through building close relationships. We welcome information about any ecumenical activities occurring at the congregational level, so that we can disseminate those stories by way of the various media available. Committee members are also available to resource individual congregations as you engage in these ecumenical learning possibilities.
