NYALC cancelled

The National Young Adult Leader Conference (NYALC) which was due to be held in January 2021 has been cancelled. NYALC draws key young adult leaders from across Australia from many diverse cultural groups from within the Uniting Church in Australia. The Conference aims to encourage, bless, grow and empower UCA young adult leaders in their ministry and faith.

Uniting Church President Dr Deidre Palmer wrote a letter to advise that due to COVID-19, the volatility of our current health situation in Australia and the necessary community safety measures, the Assembly is cancelling the Young Adult Leaders Conference. The President announced that she would be hosting a series of seven online ‘roundtable’ gatherings in the next six months. If you are a young adult or are involved in encouraging young adults in church life, you can sign up by emailing Deidre at Turn on Javascript!. Read the letter regarding the cancellation of NYALC here.

Passing of Rev Sir Samson Lowa

Many folk will remember with affection Rev Sir Samson Lowa a former Moderator of the United Church of PNG. Now available Moderator's Worship Resource: New Connections

As many congregations look to gather together again for Sunday worship, Centre for Music Liturgy and the Arts (CMLA) and the Moderator's Worship Team have put together some resources for a worship celebration.

This consists of a collection of prayers and a message from the Moderator, acknowledging how difficult these past few months have been for many; our on-going uncertainty and vulnerability; our need for rest and restoration; and expressing our hopes for the future of our church. This collection will be available as printed resources to be used within a gathered worship service, a pre-recorded video message from the Moderator, plus a printed ‘Worship at Home’ resource for those unable to or not yet gathering together.

The Worship Resource is now available on the UCA SA Synod website here: https://sa.uca.org.au/who-we-are/moderator#moderatorsMessage. You might choose to use it during worship on Sunday 26 July or one Sunday during August.

For further information or to obtain hard copies of the resource, please contact the Moderator's office by email Turn on Javascript!.

You might choose to celebrate it on Sunday 2 August or any suitable date for the celebration.
