Reflection of the Week - 18 July 2018

Winter reminds us that, like the earth, we need to rest in order to sustain life.

Jesus said;Come to me, all you that are weary and are carrying heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. (Matthew 11:28) In what ways does the Spirit breathe that message into my life at present? As I look at my life, my world, can I understand that it is not always our efforts that will bring the changes we seek, but a willingness to let go, to rest, and to trust that deep below the surface God's Spirit will bring forth new life in due season?

    This reflection was great comfort to me at a time when I knew I had to rest and trust in Gods power to bring about His plan for my son and his acceptance of Christs sacrifice. I give thanks for the Holy Spirits clear message to me.
