Reflection of the Week - 17 March 2020

Posted in Faith

How many times do we hear people say “he/she has changed since we first met”

or

“my life is forever changing and I don't know who or where I am”.

People come into our lives and then we despair and grieve when they leave us.

We so want things not to change.

One thing we do know is that God never changes. He is always the same.

James 1:16-18

Don't be deceived, my dear brothers and sisters. Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.  He chose to give us birth through the word of truth, that we might be a kind of first-fruits of all he created.

God's unconditional love never changes and the fact that he CHOSE to give us birth

should help us to see just how precious we are in his sight.

He loves us as he loved his Son, Jesus, and we must love others and

show all people that they are precious, too, especially the marginalised of our society,

the lonely and those that feel unloved.

Holy Lord, I want to reflect your unconditional love and your glory

to all around me.

I want your light to radiate from my being

so that all will know of your beauty

and your grace.

Amen

Reflection of the Week - 23rd April 2024

While I claim no expert knowledge when it comes to sheep, I did find myself relating to Jesus in his role as the Good Shepherd in today's gospel (21st April).

Safe Church Screening

It’s nearly 5 years since the introduction of the Working With Childrens Check (WWCC) became a minimum requirement for those with roles of responsibility within the life of the church.

Reflection of the Week - 16th April 2024

Don’t you wonder sometimes how our covenant Lord who is God – Creator, Master, and Teacher, can and does create from nothing and does not need anything or anyone but is helplessly in love with you?

I find the hard lines and colours of the graphic much less conducive to quiet reflection — please bring back the peaceful scene(s).
