Reflection of the Week - 11 September 2019

Posted in Faith

In today's world there are so many times when we long for the peace that only God can give.

Peace of mind, peace in our families, peace for the war torn parts of the world.

A peace which encompasses all that is in conflict around us.

We can find this peace through prayer and the assurances we find in the Bible.

2 Thessalonians 3:16-18

Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times and in every way. The Lord be with all of you.

I, Paul, write this greeting in my own hand, which is the distinguishing mark in all my letters. This is how I write.

The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all.

God of Peace, how we long to be calm and hold our temper
in the face of conflict and stress.

We also long to offer peaceful solutions in countries at war
but we feel helpless and the task seems too big.

Show us that each of us has a part to play in peaceful solutions,
no matter how small our contribution seems to be.

Amen

We can be the peacemakers in our world.

We can offer our hands and hearts in reconciliation.

We can use words of peace, not conflict, in times of anger.

We can be the ones who stand calm in the face of stress.

We can offer the Lord's peace to others just like the apostle Paul with the Thessalonians.

Reflection of the Week - 16th April 2024

Don’t you wonder sometimes how our covenant Lord who is God – Creator, Master, and Teacher, can and does create from nothing and does not need anything or anyone but is helplessly in love with you?

What a great reflection to read after attending the launch of the World Peace game, which will be played over the next 3 days at Annesley Junior School. Teaching young people negotiating skills and diplomacy skills on a world stage, with every place a winner.
