In 2021 Uniting Country SA has been recognised as one of Australia’s best places to work.

On Wednesday 18th August the organisation attended a virtual celebration held to announce the rankings and to celebrate their achievement. Out of over 100 businesses recognised, 40 made the final list and Uniting Country SA ranked 7th in the 100+ category and were the only Not for Profit organisation to be recognised in this list.

‘We are really honoured to be recognised as one of the best places to work in Australia. It’s important to us that we value our people and formally receiving this recognition demonstrates we do that,’ said Karen Shearer, Executive Manager People and Culture.

Uniting Country SA worked with WRK+, an Australian research and consulting firm that study how organisations function and then make recommendations about how to develop and enhance employee engagement.

This study took place over several weeks and included a submission from the organisation as well as an employee survey conducted independently of Uniting Country SA. The results of this study and others have now been published in a special feature magazine distributed nationwide, including the rankings of the 2021 Best Places to Work.

Uniting Country SAs People and Culture team celebrated this achievement at a small event held at the Parham Street Centre Port Pirie. There the team learned of the organisation’s rank and celebrated with other organisations involved from across Australia.

The team also began planning what they could achieve during the next 12 months to ensure that Uniting Country SA continues to be recognised as an employer of choice in regional South Australia.
