Synod Standing Committee Meeting Update 22nd February 2024

The Synod Standing Committee met on Thursday, 22^nd February 2024 to consider reports from a number of ministry centres.

We spent time reflecting on the 2023 Safe Church Audit and how we might obtain the necessary engagement to fulfil our legislated requirements in this important part of our church’s life.

The Synod Standing Committee approved the Placement description of Executive Officer: Mission Resourcing, and formed the Joint Nominating Committee to guide the church’s discernment for the role.

We extended their support for the continued work of the Mission and Leadership Missional Framework (2023) and approved appointments to a number of boards.

The Standing Committee expressed their thanks to Ms Erica Benn for the nine years of service to the Board of Helping Hand Aged Care Inc and to Stephanie Hoang for her service to the UnitingCare Wesley Bowden Board.

The Committee is scheduled to meet again on Thursday, 4^th April 2024.
