Synod Art Project

Posted in News

The Synod Art Project is an initiative of the General Secretary, Rev Felicity Amery with support from the Centre for Music, Liturgy and the Arts. The project was borne from a conversation the UCA Synod of SA is having about who it is, and what God might be doing in and through the Synod over the next five years.

Over forty (40) artists associated with the Uniting Church in South Australia were invited to create works that reflect on how we experience communion and togetherness with God, one another and all creation, in the everyday and the idea of the Trinity as a symbol of God’s salvation and grace.

Thirteen (13) artists have now produced thirty (30) works in a variety of media that have taken up the conversation – some of these were exhibited at the recent Synod meeting and all of them are now on display in the Synod Office for the next three (3) months. There will be opportunities to further engage with these art-works in the coming months.
