A summary of the discussions, deliberations and decisions arising from the meeting of the Uniting Church in South Australia.

The highlights from the 6^th August 2021 Synod Standing Committee Meeting are as follows:

• Governance conversation about Synod Standing Committee and staff relationships – oversight versus management

• Significant time was spent on a number of strategic conversations.

Associate General Secretary’s Report

• Timing of appointments to Property Trust and Resources Board
• Appointments to Uniting College Grants Committee
• Noting the closure of Hare St congregation
• Dates for 2022 Synod meeting:

            27 February, Celebration of Ministry Service

            18 June, Online portion of Synod meeting

            23 – 25 June, In person portion of Synod meeting.

• Confirmation of membership of the Presbytery Restructure Review task group and Synod Membership Review task group
• Approval of Schedule A Stipends and Allowances for 2022, to be confirmed at the December 2021 meeting
• Change in membership of the Professional Development Review group

Engagement Ministry Centre Report

• Copyright discussion and management of risk
• Administrative support for the Engagement Ministry Centre
• Invoicing system
• Website statistics in relation to access to New Times online.

Uniting Aboriginal & Islander Christian Congress SA Regional Council

• Delegation of Presbytery responsibilities in relation to Faith Communities to UAICC SA.

The meeting adjourned and will continue on 3^rd September 2021.
