Happy 1st Birthday Seeds

Posted in Faith

Seeds Kurralta Park, a thriving church plant of Seeds Uniting Church in Aberfoyle Park, has had an incredible year since its establishment in February 2023. As the community came together to celebrate its first birthday on 11th February 2024, they spent time reflecting on the goodness of God over the last year.

Over their first year, by His grace, they have doubled in size and are enjoying connecting with more people from their local community. They are about to start their third Alpha Course; a weekly craft group is up and running as well as children’s, young adults and women’s ministries. It is a real encouragement seeing so many young adults attend their service each week and even organising their own Young Adults events.

Seeds has had five baptisms, including a couple at the beach, as well as holding their inaugural community Carols in the Park at Christmas time which saw over 200 people gather for a free barbecue and great carols. They have also shared in many community lunches, barbecues and soup Sundays; and engaged in wonderful worship sessions, followed by challenging messages from a wide variety of different preachers.

Part of their birthday celebrations was enjoying a shared lunch and birthday cake, as well as asking those in their congregation to share what they love about the church. Common themes were the strong sense of community; the warm and inclusive nature of the people across different age groups; powerful preaching and worship services; a church dedicated to being on a mission and embracing new ideas; and not to forget, the enjoyable perk of complimentary barista coffee every Sunday morning!

As Seeds moves into the next year of their church plant, they are excited about following God’s direction as they pursue the overall Seeds Church mission of ‘bringing people to Jesus and being transformed into His passionate disciples.’

If you are looking for a fresh start, or a new faith community to become involved in, Seeds would love to welcome you. Their services are at 10.00 am each Sunday, with coffee and community time from 9.30 am. More information is available at this link: Seeds Uniting Church - Home (seedschurch.org).

Safe Church Screening

It’s nearly 5 years since the introduction of the Working With Childrens Check (WWCC) became a minimum requirement for those with roles of responsibility within the life of the church.

Reflection of the Week - 2nd April 2024

Jesus’ love for his enemies knows no bounds. He prays even for those who are putting him to death. It is this, the enemy-loving God, that is offered to us in the Eucharist.
