The Safer Communities Fund Round 6: Infrastructure Grant is now open and schools, pre-schools, places of religious worship, local councils and community organisations are encouraged to apply.

The aim of the Safer Communities Fund Round 6 program is to increase public safety and security in the Australian community and to reduce crime, violence and anti-social behaviour. We all have the right to feel safe.

All groups who apply must have an Australian Business Number (ABN), be Not-for-Profit organisations, local governing bodies and incorporated trustees with responsibility for community assets.

The minimum grant amount is $10,000 and the maximum is $500,000. The grant will be up to 100% of eligible project costs.

The Safer Communities Fund provides funding to community organisations, schools, pre-schools and local councils to implement and boost crime prevention and security initiatives. Eligible activities can include: fixed or mobile CCTV cameras, security lighting, bollards, fencing, security and alarm systems, intercom, swipe access for public or community spaces, licensed security guards for schools and pre-schools.

Projects must be completed by 31 March 2024.
