Reflection of the Week - 5 December 2018

Posted in Faith

We are never really sure of what this day may bring to change our circumstances, yet whatever it is, Paul exhorts us to pray...'Rejoice always; pray without ceasing; give thanks in all circumstances for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

Pray without ceasing? It is hard enough, in this busy season, to spend time in contemplation, or even stop to pray at all! The practice of Jesus, a busy person, who encouraged his disciples to 'come away and rest awhile', and shame even set aside time for prayer himself, shames me into a moment of quiet.

Rejoice. Pray. Give thanks. These are the 'dot points' to re-direct my focus today on God in prayer.

I want to allow God to make a path through the wilderness of mindless routine. To make way for the ‘new thing’ God will do.

Reflection of the Week - 16th April 2024

Don’t you wonder sometimes how our covenant Lord who is God – Creator, Master, and Teacher, can and does create from nothing and does not need anything or anyone but is helplessly in love with you?
