Reflection of the Week - 4 September 2019

Posted in Faith

The darkness of the early mornings of winter is gradually giving way to lengthening days, and the promise of a return of energising sunlight.

'for now the winter is past, the rain is over and gone. The flowers appear on the earth; the time of singing has come, and the voice of the turtle dove is heard in our land. The fig tree puts forth its figs ,and the vines are in blossom; they give forth fragrance.' (Song of Solomon. 2:11-13)

Spring comes, with the buds on the fruit trees and the grain in the  paddocks bursting from the confines of dormancy. The dependable, seasonal changes present us with a sign of God's faithful, and energising love.

Creator God, let me see every Spring as a new beginning, as evidence of recreation, and a sign of hope for me and for a pessimistic world.

Reflection of the Week - 23rd April 2024

While I claim no expert knowledge when it comes to sheep, I did find myself relating to Jesus in his role as the Good Shepherd in today's gospel (21st April).
