Reflection of the Week - 29 August 2018

Posted in Faith

It's coming up to Father's Day again. Fathers are special people. Their bonding with children begins once they are born. In awe of their new creation; charged with a great responsibility to raise this child. Fathers give us support. Laugh with us. Cry with us. Play sport with us. Raise us. Just as earthly Fathers fulfil this role, so too does God, our heavenly Father.

1 John 3 How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him. Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when he appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is.

The God of the universe calling me His child. How special. How heart-warming to know that I am loved. As I show my father my appreciation for his love and support this Fathers Day or remember what life was like when he was here, I will remember and thank my God also.

Lord God, thank you for being my Father. Thank you for my Dad here on earth. May I be a child that brings him joy, telling him of the wonderful job he is doing in love and thankfulness. May You draw near to those who are fatherless. Fill them with your unmeasurable love You have lavished upon us all. Amen.

Reflection of the Week - 16th April 2024

Don’t you wonder sometimes how our covenant Lord who is God – Creator, Master, and Teacher, can and does create from nothing and does not need anything or anyone but is helplessly in love with you?
