Reflection of the Week - 27 February 2019

The earth is in turmoil. Floods, droughts, earthquakes and cyclones shake our foundations, proving, once again, the fragility of our existence on this often cruel planet. We mourn with those who have lost loved ones in natural disasters. Families transformed, bearing wounds that bear the deepest of scars. Fathers burying their children. Children burying their mothers. How much can we bear?

And death is at your doorstep. And it will steal your innocence. But it will not steal your substance. But you are not alone in this. And you are not alone in this. As brothers we will stand and we'll hold your hand. Hold your hand. - From the song 'Timshell' by Mumford and Sons.

And I can see a light that is coming for the heart that holds on. A glorious light beyond all compare. And there will be an end to these troubles. But until that day comes. We'll live to know You here on the earth. - From the song 'You never let go' by Matt Redman.

Father, You have promised that the world won't always be like this. You have promised to restore creation and humanity to a world of no more pain, no more tears and no more sorrow. Thank you for this hope. May I continue live with this day in mind, living my earthly life to the full. Give me strength to share this hope with those around me. May I continue to hold up the people affected by disasters in my prayers. Not just for their physical needs, but for their broken spirits to be made whole once again, and that their hearts would be brought close to Yours, Father.

Reflection of the Week - 23rd April 2024

While I claim no expert knowledge when it comes to sheep, I did find myself relating to Jesus in his role as the Good Shepherd in today's gospel (21st April).

Reflection of the Week - 16th April 2024

Don’t you wonder sometimes how our covenant Lord who is God – Creator, Master, and Teacher, can and does create from nothing and does not need anything or anyone but is helplessly in love with you?
