Reflection of the Week - 16th April 2024
Don’t you wonder sometimes how our covenant Lord who is God – Creator, Master, and Teacher, can and does create from nothing and does not need anything or anyone but is helplessly in love with you?

A gift only becomes a gift when it is received; and nothing we have to give – wealth, talents, competence, or just beauty – will ever be recognised as true gifts until someone is open to accept them.
This all suggests that if we want others to grow – that is, to discover their potential and capacities, to experience that they have something to live and work for – we should first of all be able to recognise their gifts and be willing to receive them.
For we only become fully human when we are received and accepted.

While I claim no expert knowledge when it comes to sheep, I did find myself relating to Jesus in his role as the Good Shepherd in today's gospel (21st April).
It’s nearly 5 years since the introduction of the Working With Childrens Check (WWCC) became a minimum requirement for those with roles of responsibility within the life of the church.
