Reflection of the Week - 18 February 2020

Posted in Faith

Little scraps of peace and quiet
Hope, conversation, handshakes – all in dribs and drabs…

Off-cuts of each other
A skerrick of community
A bit of a kiss…

Leftovers, oddments, remnants
of the glorious situation.
A fragment of God.

[This week's reflection takes its lead from this poem, forming from scraps of songs and poems]

We were born into a light.

Be Thou my Vision, O Lord of my heart…
Waking or sleeping, Thy presence my light.

“Awake my soul,
Awake my soul
Awake my soul
You were made to meet your maker.”

“Clear in the desert
A road for the LORD!
Level in the wilderness
A highway for our God!”

Step with great care and great tact
and remember that Life's a Great Balancing Act…
OH! THE PLACES YOU'LL GO!

Do not go gentle into that good night…
rage against the dying of the light.

I know I've caused you pain
But I must do the right thing
I must do myself a favor and get real
Get right with the Lord
I know I've lost my conscience
I know I've lost all shame
But I must do the right thing
I must do myself a favor and get real
Get right with the Lord

Reflection of the Week - 16th April 2024

Don’t you wonder sometimes how our covenant Lord who is God – Creator, Master, and Teacher, can and does create from nothing and does not need anything or anyone but is helplessly in love with you?

Reflection of the Week - 23rd April 2024

While I claim no expert knowledge when it comes to sheep, I did find myself relating to Jesus in his role as the Good Shepherd in today's gospel (21st April).
