Honesty and Integrity, two words that mean so much, and yet sometimes in today's world there is not much importance paid to them. Often we stretch the truth a little, or we gossip and run down other people without realising it. Perhaps if we are selling something we exaggerate or we brag about ourselves to others. Our Lord has left us clear instructions for our lives and we need to revisit these words often.

Proverbs 4:23-27 Above all else, guard your heart, for it is the wellspring of life. Put away perversity from your mouth; keep corrupt talk far from your lips. Let your eyes look straight ahead, fix your gaze directly before you. Make level paths for your feet and take only ways that are firm. Do not swerve to the right or the left; keep your foot from evil.

Merciful and Compassionate God, help us to obey your instructions. Let us first be honest with ourselves so that we can, in turn, be honest with others. Let us see that to gossip or hurt our friends with words also hurts you. May our hearts be the wellspring of the life that you offer us. These things we offer in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen

To be honest before God and offer our failings to the one who forgives all. We can remain silent in the face of gossip and inflammatory words. See the face of Christ in all we meet. Allow God's love and compassion to colour dealings in every area of our lives.

Reflection of the Week - 16th April 2024

Don’t you wonder sometimes how our covenant Lord who is God – Creator, Master, and Teacher, can and does create from nothing and does not need anything or anyone but is helplessly in love with you?

Reflection of the Week - 23rd April 2024

While I claim no expert knowledge when it comes to sheep, I did find myself relating to Jesus in his role as the Good Shepherd in today's gospel (21st April).
