Reflection of the week

Sometimes it feels like God is not doing anything, and when we pray, we are met with an awful silence.

The Jews must have felt like that, as for ages they looked in vain for their coming Messiah.

“But when the time had fully come, God sent his Son…” – Galatians 4:4

“Then they cried unto the Lord in their trouble, and he delivered them out of their distresses. And he led them forth by the right way…” – Psalm 107:6-7

Lord, your timing is always perfect, even though we don't always recognise it at the time. You see with an eternal perspective, and are motivated by love.

Let us use the gift of hindsight, looking back on the wisdom of God's timing and his actions.

Knowing this, let us walk by faith in our present.
