I might joke about giving up my favourite dark chocolate and a second cup of coffee, but the One who offers me the gift of Living Water knows me better than I know myself. I will be thirsty again and again, and not just for coffee. I long for the refreshing Living Water that only Christ can give. Like the woman at the well (John 4:28-29), he knows me through and through, and understands my yearning for a renewed relationship with him.
Prayer
Refresh my heart Lord, and make me new. Quench my thirst for your revitalising, powerful presence. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
