The offer of a weekend retreat persuaded me that I needed to refresh my spirit as well as my body.
At times, life seems to settle into a humdrum daily routine so that when a “mountaintop” experience happens, I want to hold on to it. I want to stay there, just as the discples did (Mark 9: 2-9).
Instead, I must return to the valley of everyday life in the “valley”. There, I am called to serve those who are also in need of such refreshment.
Prayer
Lord of life and light, so transform my life that I can better witnes to your power to save and transform those who yearn to experience your love and grace. In Jesus’ dear name, Amen.
