NCLS 2016 – order surveys now!

Orders are now being taken for survey forms for National Church Life Survey (NCLS) 2016.

Standing Committee has directed all Uniting Church SA congregations to participate in the survey, which will take place in November 2016.

It is requested that all congregations order the required number of survey forms by 30 June, 2016. No money is required when orders are placed. Invoices will be sent later.

Congeregations are reminded that Synod will pay the $250 registration fee, leaving congregations to pay $1.50 per survey form ordered.

NCLS promotion for congregations

Looking to promote the NCLS in your congregation? There are a couple of different promotional items that can be used by churches.

The promo video is also available here. A publicity template is available for use in church bulletins, websites and newsletters. Congregations are welcome to amend the text. Logos and graphics can also be found on the 2016 NCLS website.

 

Act for Peace – Volunteer Speakers

Act for Peace’s Speaker Network plays an important role in maintaining relationships with churches and supporters across Australia – educating people about the issues that communities face who are threatened by conflict and disaster, sharing stories of how passionate people are bringing justice and safety to their communities, and helping to raise funds for our vital work.

Remind, Refresh, Resource – Clare

Uniting Church members are invited to Clare Uniting Church on Saturday 28 May, 9.30am-4.30pm, for Remind, Refresh, Resource, a training and workshop day.

Sponsored by Uniting Foundation in conjunction with Mission Resourcing, the event will include sessions and workshops covering issues relevant to local congregations. Remind, Refresh, Resource aims to encourage and assist congregations and faith communities in their mission and ministry within their contexts.

Winterbourne 2016 - youth event

Winterbourne is held annually by Westbourne Park Uniting Church for high school-aged young people (years 8-12). The event seeks to be an opportunity for youth to grow in their faith whilst
developing friendships and having fun through electives, worship, small groups and service.

This year’s event will focus on the theme “Following Jesus” and feature guest speakers Mike Wardrop (Intergenerational Discipleship Developer, Uniting Church SA), Deidre Palmer (Uniting Church SA Moderator), Shane Rayner (Seeds Uniting Church), Danica Patselis (Intern Year, Uniting College) and Nick Patselis (Salisbury Uniting Church).

Winterbourne will be held from Tuesday 19 to Friday 22 July at Westbourne Park Uniting Church.

The event is open to young people from churches across the state, with opportunities for leaders and youth to register.

Mostly Music@Malvern

Malvern Uniting Church invites everyone to their Concert Series, which is being held on the first Sunday of each month. Sit back and enjoy our forthcoming series of musical afternoons, with music ranging from classical to jazz, instrumental to vocal and choral, Christian to secular. The series will begin on Sunday 5 June at 2pm. Tickets: $10 adults; $5 children under 12. Includes afternoon tea. Tickets available at the door or call 8271 6817.
