SURRENDER Adelaide 2016 - early bird offer closes soon!

SURRENDER Adelaide is a gathering of Christians to share ideas, stories and hope on the themes of justice, discipleship and mission.

“Love God, Love Neighbour, Love Enemy” – these are Jesus' three mandates to love. What does this mean to us in our world today?

This is the theme that will be explored at SURRENDER Adelaide in 2016, when the event will run from Friday 9 to Sunday 11 September.

Guest speakers include Tim Costello (World Vision), Som Chanmony (TEAR, Cambodia), Brooke Prentis (Grass Tree Gathering), Joanna Hubbard (Baptist Care SA) and singer-songwriter Kylie Brice. The conference will also include workshops, Bible studies and conversations on a diverse range of topics.

An early bird offer of $99 for the full conference is available until Thursday 11 August.

After this date registration will cost $130, with special prices available for concession holders, youth and children. Day and session passes are also available.

For more information or to register, please visit the SURRENDER Adelaide website or contact Danica Patselis on 0421 824 814 or email Turn on Javascript!

Didn’t read last week’s “News & notices”? The items below are ones you might want to catch up on.

Called to a year of prayer

The new board of the National Council of Churches Australia (NCCA) recently met for the first time, and their first resolve was to call churches to deeper prayer. The recent NCCA Forum heard a timely request for a Year of Prayer. The NCCA have therefore suggested churches follow this suggestion with a focus on Psalm 51:10.

Fore more information, please visit the NCCA website.

2017 calendars - orders open now!

Orders for the 2017 Uniting Church SA calendar are now open! Each year, the Communications team produces this valuable resource, which includes photos of the Uniting Church SA community, important dates, lectionary readings, a message from the Moderator and General Secretary, and the Mission & Service Fund budget.

All congregations who wish to receive printed calendars must place an order by Friday 14 October, 2016. Printed calendars cost $1.50 each; a complimentary downloadable version will be made available online in November 2016. Congregations who do not place an order will not receive printed calendars.

Information on ordering, a fillable order form, and a payment slip are available here. For further information, please email the Communications team at Turn on Javascript!
