Prayer Points for the week

  • Amidst COVID-19 here in Australia and overseas, we pray for those in need of healing
  • We pray for your peace with those who are anxious or grieving
  • For everyone to continue being careful and wise in taking whatever precautions are necessary to limit and contain the spread of the COVID-19 virus. May God strengthen us to remain calm while vigilant and responsible in seeking the welfare of all.

 

 

Facebook Live with Rev Sue Page

We invite you to join Associate General Secretary, Sue Page who will be live on Facebook this Friday, October 23rd, 2020 at 11.00 am. Sue will provide a COVID-19 update and will be available to answer your questions.

Mount Pleasant closing service

You are invited to attend the Mount Pleasant Uniting Church Closing Service, Sunday 22nd November at 10am. Weather permitting, please gather afterwards at the CWA Gardens (next to the Soldiers Memorial Hall) to share memories and fellowship. Bring your own chairs, food, drinks etc. The invitation can be viewed here. RSVP required to Chris on 0428 102 477.

2021 Calendar available now

 

Each year, the Uniting Church in South Australia provides congregations and individuals with lectionary readings, important dates and an overview of the Mission and Service Fund Budget via its annual Calendar publication. The 2021 calendar is now available for purchase here: https://sa.uca.org.au/stationery-and-logos/calendars-annual-reports

All congregations and organisations wishing to purchase printed calendars can do so by ordering by 9th November 2020. Printed calendars are priced at $4 each. (All orders received after 9th November, will be priced at $8 per calendar).

Christmas postcard and poster orders open

This Christmas, the Synod of SA will offer resources (postcards, posters and PowerPoint templates) to encourage congregations to invite their immediate community and to provide a place of welcome where all can share in the companionship of the season.

Postcards and accompanying posters can now be ordered from this link: https://sa.uca.org.au/christmas-2020. Orders are open through to 9th November 2020 and can be delivered to your door or picked up from MediaCom Education (2/382 South Road, Richmond SA 5033). We will also provide a set of free, downloadable PowerPoint templates for your use.

Staying Safe Online

In the lead up to Children's Week 2020, the National Safe Church Unit will stream a webinar on Wednesday 21 October to support people across the Uniting Church who are engaging with children and young people online.

Webinar on Domestic Violence

Domestic abuse is a social ill that exists outside and inside the church.

You are invited to join a webinar which seeks to examine the increasing risk of domestic and family violence through the pandemic. This webinar is part of the ‘Webinar Church and COVID-19 Series,’ delivered by the Assembly Resourcing Unit of the Uniting Church.
