Fair Trade Adelaide/North Adelaide Map

The Adelaide City Council has released a fair trade map showing the shopping locations of Fair Trade items within the Adelaide, North Adelaide Area. IGA and Oxfam both advise they provide Fair Trade items. Some of the worst areas for either poorly paying workers or using slave labour are in the tea, coffee, chocolate and clothing areas. As a church we can’t effect this terrible industry that thrives off the vulnerable and the desperately poor directly but we can try to avoid the items that sell and reduce their hold on the vulnerable. Read labels of items to see what is in the product and look for the Fair Trade symbol wherever possible.

Frontier Services fundraiser

For the first time in love one hundred years, Frontier services are calling on the community for help. There is a growing need to provide critical support to farmers ‘doing it tough’ through this ‘silent’ drought. Frontier Services are asking for churches to participate in ‘The Great Outback BBQ’ this September to raise money and awareness. This is a fantastic opportunity to lend your support to those people living in the most isolated parts of our country. All proceeds go towards Frontier Services programs to help Aussie farmers. For more information or to register your BBQ, click here.
