New opportunities
The year 2021 has arrived – a new year with new opportunities. In January we often reflect on what has been and make plans for the coming year.

Christmas is a time of expectation and preparation. It is also a time of waiting and watching.
During this year many of us have spent a lot of time waiting. In this past year we have also witnessed rapid change – change in the way we do things, change in the way we engage with others, change in how we are the church.
Connecting is much more than posting worship online or dropping something in a letterbox. It is personal and meaningful. Connecting with community is offering to help your vulnerable neighbour; I am encouraged by the willingness of people to engage with the wider community and beyond.
As we all look forward to the New Year may we be encouraged by the verse from Isaiah 43, ‘Behold I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth ... I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.’ My prayer is that we will be open to the new things that God is doing amongst us.
As you celebrate this Christmas may you experience God’s love and peace in new and unexpected ways.
Merry Christmas.

The year 2021 has arrived – a new year with new opportunities. In January we often reflect on what has been and make plans for the coming year.
As the Advent season draws to a close, we are asked to contemplate the spiritual truth of this season: ‘Unto us a child is born.’
A new year has once again begun and usually we look to starting afresh with the hope of a great year ahead.
