"Six locations, two nights, one God"

Posted in Family

Live Life Loud, the ecumenical youth worship evening run annually at venues across South Australia, continues to grow each year – approximately 800 teens gathered in six locations for Live Life Loud in 2015 and more are expected this year.

For the first time, Live Life Loud will be held on two different dates in 2016 – Friday 3 and Friday 17 June – leading to the event description of “six locations, two nights, one God”.

“Our hope is that Live Life Loud will offer young people opportunities to grow in faith and to encounter Jesus,” says Mike Wardrop, the Uniting Church SA Intergenerational Discipleship Developer and one of the organisers of Live Life Loud.

“We’re excited to be holding these nights in six locations across the state again this year – it really helps communities to realise they are not alone in their faith and ministry.”

Live Life Loud was started in 2010 by the Uniting Young People team (now known as the Intergenerational or “Intergen” team) with the aim of seeing young people from different churches experiencing transformation, having encounters with God, and becoming agents of change in their local communities.

Each year, more young people from across congregations and denominations engage with the event. As communities come together for Live Life Loud, new relationships are formed between communities and individuals – and with the Intergen team.

“We’re excited to partner with other churches and youth groups, both within and outside the Uniting Church,” says Mike. “It’s a great opportunity for networking and evangelism, fun and faith formation.”

The future of youth events in SA

Several changes are afoot for the traditional Synod-organised, state-wide youth ministry events such as Live Life Loud and SA Youth Camp Out (SAYCO). Tim Littleford explains in this letter.

This week's reflection focuses on sowing seeds and producing rich harvests - on farms and in our own lives.

Stronger than the storm

As the weekend of the South Australian Youth Camp Out drew nearer the wild weather seemed forbidding - but it wasn't enough to stop the camp from going ahead! SAYCO 2016 was a time of worship, fun and life-changing experiences.
