Certificate of Appreciation for Operation Bushfire Assist

Posted in News,Faith

It was the biggest call out of the part time (reserve) of the Australian Defence Force (ADF) since World War II. As the 2019/2020 bushfires took hold ADF Chaplains were called upon to assist in the ministry of both the members of the ADF and the wider community as they sought to come to terms with the devastation and impacts of the bushfires.

The work carried out during this time has been acknowledged by the Commander of Joint Operations and the Director General Chaplaincy (Joint Operations) of the ADF, by the awarding of a Certificate of Appreciation presented to the Uniting Church of South Australia, commending the church for its service in support of Operation Bushfire Assist 2019/20.
