Motor Vehicle Claims

AT THE SCENE OF THE ACCIDENT:

  • Ensure your safety, the safety of other person(s), the vehicle(s) and belongings.
  • DO NOT ADMIT ANY LIABILITY - as it could invalidate our claim (and it is up to our Insurer or the court to decide who would be deemed liable).
  • Photos of the damage may be helpful if a camera or camera phone is available.

If the vehicle cannot be driven due to damage you must phone the Accident Towing Authority on:  8116 9209.

COMPLY WITH POLICE REPORTING REQUIREMENTS.
Details can be found on the South Australia Police website.

IF ANOTHER VEHICLE(S) OR OTHER PERSON(S) PROPERTY IS INVOLVED, OBTAIN:

  1. The driver's name, address, telephone number and if applicable, license number.
  2. The owner's name, address and telephone number.
  3. The name of the owner's insurance company.
  4. The make, type and registration number* of the vehicle(s). * VERY IMPORTANT
  5. The name, address & if possible, phone number of any witnesses who has agreed to be a witness.
  6. The location of the accident, time and date.
  7. If police attended, officer's name and PIR Number (Police Incident Report).


MOTOR VEHICLE CLAIMS PROCEDURE

LODGE THE CLAIM WITH CGU INSURANCE

Lodge your motor vehicle claim directly with CGU Insurance over the phone. This is CGU’s preferred method.
Call: 13 24 80 (24 hours / 7 days)

DURING THE CALL, YOU WILL NEED TO:

  • Confirm a crash repairer of your choice with the CGU operator.
  • Quote the following details:
    • POLICY NO: 24F2989018
    • INSURED NAME: The Uniting Church in Australia Property Trust (S.A.)

This procedure is important to ensure your claim is processed quickly and correctly

WINDSCREEN CLAIMS (INCLUDING SIDE AND REAR WINDOWS)

  • Contact O’Brien Glass directly, 24/7, on 13 16 16 for all windscreen claims.

You will need to provide:

  • POLICY NO: 24F2989018
  • INSURED NAME: THE UNITING CHURCH IN AUSTRALIA PROPERTY TRUST (SA)

OR

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

  • No claim form is required.
  • O’Brien Glass will submit the account directly to CGU Insurance on your behalf.
  • O’Brien Glass is authorised to arrange windscreen repairs without the need to contact CGU Insurance.

IF YOU USE ANOTHER REPAIRER

If you choose a different windscreen repairer, you must complete a CGU Windscreen Claim Form and submit it by post, fax, or email as per the Motor Vehicle Claims procedure above.

NOTE

NO EXCESS applies to windscreen claims.

CURRENT POLICY EXCESSES

The following excesses apply:

  • Basic Excess – All Vehicles other than those listed below - $1,000
  • Vehicles of greater than $75,000 -  1% of Sum Insured, minimum $1,000
  • Trucks/ Goods Carrying Vehicles – 1% of Sums Insured, minimum $1,000
  • Plant/ Machinery/Earthmoving Equipment – 1% of Sums Insured, minimum of $1000
  • Trailers $1000

ADDITIONAL "AGE & INEXPERIENCED DRIVER'S EXCESSES" APPLY:

  • Driver up to 21 years of age: $850
  • Driver aged 21 and 25: $500
  • Driver aged greater than 25, having held an Australian driver’s licence less than two years: $500
