Congregational Resources for Human Resources Management

These resources are intended to provide general guidance to those involved in the human resource management of people employed and volunteering within Uniting Church SA congregations. The key purpose is to:
  • Provide consistency in human resource management practices across all Uniting Church SA congregations,

  • Recognise that employees and volunteers of the Church are a crucial part of the health, ministry and mission of the Church and all steps should be taken to ensure that they are treated with fairness, respect and dignity, and

  • Ensure that the Uniting Church SA congregations are compliant with the relevant employee related legislation.

To ensure that the status of the Church Council as "the employer" is recognized, it is recommended these resources are only to be used by Congregational office bearers, Ministers, Deacons, Chairpersons, Secretaries, Treasurers and Working Groups established to research and report on human resource management matters under the direction of the Church Council.

These resources will be amended from time to time to ensure that the information and guidelines contained are in accordance with employment standards and applicable industrial legislation.

If you have any questions regarding the resources and information in this section of the website, please email the Manager Human Resources at Turn on Javascript!.
