August 15 is Liberation Day in both South and North Korea. It marks the date in 1945 when Korea gained independence from Japanese colonial oppression. Sadly and ironically, the 15th of August also marks the day Korea divided into two countries.
All members of UCA SA are invited to join “A Light of Peace” online Prayer Service, which will be live streamed on the Synod’s Facebook page at 10am on Saturday 15th August 2020.
The Mission Resourcing team and the Synod’s Korean partnership support group will be hosting this event in solidarity with Iksan Presbytery of the Presbyterian Church in the Republic Korea. There will be a designated time in the service to write a prayer in the comments section for peace and reunification of the Korean Peninsula.
