Event details

TEAR Australia has spaces available for up to 12 people to spend a weekend (25th - 27th October 2019) at Raukkan, an Aboriginal community on Lake Alexandrina, near the mouth of the River Murray.

Rose Rigney, Chairperson of the Raukkan Community Council describes the community in this way: "I think we Ngarrindjeri have a real gift of hospitality. I think we also have a great system of community and structure." Reflecting on changes over the last 180 years, Rose says, "Almost organically we have ended up back at caring for country, mentoring, hosting groups, housing people for the weekend and looking after them - hospitality. We are doing what we've always done."
