All are invited to celebrate the anniversary of the Landmines Petition, and all it has led to - the formation of the SafeGround organisation and the changes in international legislation. Many Uniting Church members were involved in signing this petition.
Some of the distinguished guests at the event will speak about the significance of this petition in helping to influence and shape history.
Presenters will show the evolution from the Australian Network to Ban Landmines into SafeGround, displaying pictures and information about landmark achievements.
Examples of more recent and current work, including a short film, and SafeGround's plans for the future, will also be presented at the anniversary event.
