Winter Wrap-up from the Resources team

Posted in Resources Team

The Resources Team is pleased to announce the appointment of Sue Raw to the position of General Manager Resources.

Sue, pictured above, is a member of Seeds Uniting Church where she is involved as a worship leader, small group leader and catering coordinator of Easter Camp.

As a Chartered Accountant, Sue comes to the UCA SA with a strong background in finance, accounting and senior management, which is complimented by her engaging and collaborative leadership style.

For the last five years Sue has been working as General Manager Corporate Services for an accounting, business and financial services firm.

Farewell Astrid Kuivasaari

At the end of June the Resources team farewelled Astrid after six years of serving the Church through her accounting, finance and management expertise. Astrid has been a capable leader and General Manager, overseeing Financial Services, IT&T, Uniting Venues SA, Property, WHS and Insurance.

The UCA SA will miss Astrid but wishes her well as she takes on her new role with Lutheran Homes.

New Presbyteries

The June meeting of Presbytery and Synod saw the separation of the Presbytery from the Synod, and the creation of two new Presbyteries in South Australia – Generate Presbytery and Transitional Presbytery.

While many administrative responsibilities will remain with Synod, the Resources team has been working with the new Presbytery Treasurers to establish financial accounting systems and creating budgets for each Presbytery. The two Presbyteries will operate until the November Synod meeting, when it is expected the Transitional Presbytery will divide into at least two geographic presbyteries.
