Rev Nigel Rogers - CEO/General Secretary
Chief Executive Officer/General Secretary of the Uniting Church in South Australia's Presbytery and Synod
The CEO/General Secretary is appointed by the Uniting Church SA Synod to provide leadership to the Church by actively engaging in strategic thinking about the life, direction, vision and mission of the Church.
Rev Nigel Rogers was appointed as CEO/General Secretary in May 2014. His appointment marks a generational shift in the life of the Uniting Church in South Australia.
Underpinning Nigel's approach to the future of the Presbytery and Synod in South Australia, is a deep-seated love for Christ, and a passion for strengthening the Church to have greater reach in sharing God's love with the community.
Nigel's ministry began in 2002 when he was appointed the part-time Youth and Young Adults Pastor at Mooloolaba Uniting Church in Queensland. During this time, he also began his candidature for ordained ministry.
In 2006, Nigel and his family moved to Sydney. They joined Pittwater Uniting Church congregation where Nigel continued his ministry as the church's Youth and Young Adults Pastor. After 18 months, Nigel undertook his candidature for full-time ministry. Upon completion of this candidature, Nigel was called to be a senior minister at Pittwater Uniting Church.
Nigel is married to Jo. Together they have three children.
