Reflection of the week

O God, do not keep silence, nor hold your peace or be still, O God. – Psalm 83:1a

Sometimes my prayer seems to echo, as if in a vacuum and, like the Psalmist, I plead with for God to break that silence, yet I wonder – how can God's voice be heard in such a noise-polluted society such as ours?

I am still. Silent. No words do I have, to properly express lament or praise.

I am still. Waiting to hear only some word from God.

I am still. Waiting in the silence of an empty, winter's night to receive from God my salvation – God’s peace.

Dear Lord, break through the sounds that fill the hours of my day, and the wakeful, anxious hours of my night. Grant me the blessing of stillness with you. Amen.

God longs for me to be still long enough, and silent long enough to hear the words of grace.

Reflection of the Week - 16th April 2024

Don’t you wonder sometimes how our covenant Lord who is God – Creator, Master, and Teacher, can and does create from nothing and does not need anything or anyone but is helplessly in love with you?
