Reflection of the week

Posted in Faith

I am in conversation with a friend. I remark on how easy it is to have a rapport with some personalities, while others keep me at arm’s length. I confess that my reaction, usually, is to turn away and cultivate a connection with someone more easily approachable.

First of all then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone. – 1Timothy 2:1

I respond to this by asking why I should do that. If I do intercede for them, what’s in it for me? There are some people that I don’t even love or like very much…

But I resolve to practice a more inclusive prayer life, and find the answer – the answer that lies in my changed attitude towards those outside my immediate circle.

I will develop a new respect for them and myself.

I live in a new appreciation of an all-inclusive Gospel.

Reflection of the Week - 16th April 2024

Don’t you wonder sometimes how our covenant Lord who is God – Creator, Master, and Teacher, can and does create from nothing and does not need anything or anyone but is helplessly in love with you?

Reflection of the Week - 23rd April 2024

While I claim no expert knowledge when it comes to sheep, I did find myself relating to Jesus in his role as the Good Shepherd in today's gospel (21st April).
