Day Camp 2018
Westbourne Park Uniting Church
27 Sussex Terrace, Hawthorn
15 January 2018 9:00am - 19 January 2018 3:00pm
Every year, kids aged from Reception to Year 7 come along to Westbourne Park Uniting Church's exciting Day Camp! Children from other congregations, denominations or the wider community are welcome to attend. Many young people in Year 8 and up are also able to assist in various leadership capacities.
Day Camp 2018 is 'rocketing up into space' for Mission 25. As we focus our telescopes on the marvels in the sky, we'll focus on the wonder of all wonders, that God, who created everything there is - the knowable and unknowable, the visible and the invisible - wants a personal relationship with us all!
Together we'll spend the week thinking, playing and crafting with a Space Mission feel. There will be plenty of creative and thought-provoking activities with the ultimate best friend and big brother Jesus and the good things he had to say being our focus. There'll be activities like gymnastics, the planetarium, bowling, swimming, a puppet performance and will finish without Friday festival and market followed by a family concert.
Afternoon activities vary across groups (and might be in the morning). In case of extreme weather, activities may be modified and where possible we will organize transport for walking activities. Everyone needs parental consent. Extra details are available.
Morning tea is provided, water is available all day. Parents who would like to contribute biscuits/cake are asked to please bring them to the kitchen any day.
Morning tea for parents is available in the assembly area. Parents are welcome to stay for this time and see what the kids are up to each morning while you stop for a cuppa.
Please provide a named hat and packed lunch each day.
A daily newsletter, received at the end of each day, will have information for the next day.
Camp Concert - Friday 19 Jan, doors open 6.15pm, concert from 6.30 - 7.45pm. A great celebration to end the week and for the kids to show something of what they've been doing.
