Event details
The Australian Faith Community Nurses Association and Baptist Care SA are holding a conference aimed at helping people who are caregivers in the community to be equipped to provide effective care. This year, the conference will focus on an area of growing concern in our community, namely 'Dying Well'.
Death is something we will all face, and living well until the end of life is what we all hope to experience. A good death meets the person’s physical, psychological social and spiritual needs. The failure to talk about and plan for death is one of the most significant obstacles to quality living life at the end of life.
This June conference will focus on the sensitive topic of 'Dying Well' so it becomes easier to engage effectively with people at a time when they are open to discussing deeper spiritual issues.
Our speakers have all got a long professional, ministry or personal lived experience in the area of end of life care. Dr Lawrie Palmer is a palliative care physician who will speak into this issue with a great depth of knowledge and compassion. Please check the program (see the link below) for the list of wonderful people presenting at this conference.
The conference costs are $200 for two full days and $250 including accommodation on Monday night.
