White Ribbon Day
United Nations International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women.
The Uniting Church in South Australia is committed to supporting the campaign for the elimination of violence against women. Please see below for our resolutions around this. In 2014, our Moderator Dr Deidre Palmer launched a campaign called “Beyond Violence” which seeks to address domestic and family violence and violence against women.
Dinners have been held as the Moderator has hosted talks with both men and women about how to best cultivate a culture of mutuality, respect and safety for all people in healthy relationships. On White Ribbon Day 2014, a workshop was held at Brougham Place Uniting Church to address this and more dates will be released for 2015.
Please see www.beyondviolence.org.au for more information.
