This retreat sponsored by the Progressive Christianity Network of South Australia will be led by Martin Samson visiting from Sydney. During the retreat participants will be re-acquainted with Christianity’s lost mystical traditions as a guide to personal authenticity. Expect to be challenged to take responsibility for your own religious life and discover a spirituality for a post-church Christianity. There will also be time for nourishing food, conversation and community.
The Retreat will be held at Christ Church Wayville. It starts at 6pm with a meal on Friday 20th May and concludes at 7pm Saturday 21st after a celebrative meal. Sessions explore the three aspects of salvation (restoration, redemption and transformation; the contemplative perception of the spirit; the mystical dimension of the fourth Gospel; Jesus as a prototype of applied ethics.
Martin’s journey includes a time exploring with the Redemptorist Order in South Africa. In Australia he taught at Rudolf Steiner schools and has completed a Masters in Theological Studies at the ACD. He now lives in Sydney and is completing his doctoral thesis on Rudolf Steiner's Christology.
The cost is $35/$30 concession and included meals and coffee breaks.
