Event details

The Christ Church Uniting Gardening Group is hosting an afternoon of music and poetry in Turlatina Wirra – Peaceful Garden, 26 King William Road, Wayville.

The band is Vagaband and poets include Jude Aquilina, Louise Nicholas, Judy Dally, Jen Liston and Belinda Broughton.

This event is part of Nature Week and is our second year of hosting an event in the garden for Nature Week. Donations will assist refugees and asylum seekers through the Circle of Friends. We will offer afternoon tea, a trading table and a plant stall.

Turlatina Wirra is along the banks of the Parklands Creek in Wayville and our gardening group has just completed a third autumn of planting, weeding and clearing the creek. Re-introducing the original flora has made the creek a better habitat, and the garden again hosts frogs, birds, insects, lizards, spiders, butterflies, even yabbies.

Our Garden is:
a place for community to find peace, healing and harmony
a creek habitat garden to provide a wildlife corridor from source to sea
a sustainable garden to promote biodiversity and conservation.

Registration is essential for COVID safe planning. Register at: www.naturefestival.org.au/event/an-afternoon-of-music-and-poetry-in-a-peaceful-garden (opens in a new window)
