13 May 2021 7:00pm - 8:30pm

Event details

This is the second in the Seminary of the Third Age May series with the theme 'Searching for an Authentic Jesus for Now.'

Fergus is an Adelaide teacher and writer; a member at Christ Church Uniting Church whose scholarship integrates the sciences, arts and theology. His topic addresses the question of an authentic mode of Christian witness to and participation in the contemporary world.

He discusses how this may apply to democratic politics, the tyranny of the generals in Myanmar or the princes in Saudi Arabia and to a continuing resistance to the establishment of an Indigenous Voice to parliament. Even democracy starts not as a system of government, but in the hearts and minds of individuals transformed by the Gospel.

Date is Thursday May 13th from 7pm at Christ Church Wayville. Cost is $15 per session ($12 concession) or $45 for all 4 sessions for the month.

Book through the Effective Living Centre website, choose 'programs' and scroll down to Seminary of the Third Age May series.
