Event details
The brand new Spring/Summer free program for Music on Flinders starts in October.
The first artist for the season is Sue Baker.
Some say Sue is a late starter, and now in her 60s, she’s revelling in her music, since recently retiring. She has always sung, and learned to play guitar at 12 .
Serious songwriting only started after her children left home and Sue finally recorded a debut album “Bit of Earth” in 2010. It was recorded & produced by Jamie Blechynden of Stella Studios of Tanunda. All are original songs written by Sue, and with more where they came from, Sue will be recording a second solo album later in 2019. In 2018, Sue won equal first Peoples’ Choice award at SCALA’s annual FOOM competition for her live performance of “Tonight”.
Sue’s songs are full of metaphors about life and love, and best described as alternative folk, with hints of country folk, jazz and blues in the mix.
Sue also performs with her band, The Sourdoughs.
Check out Sue on her Facebook page Sue Baker Music.
