Re-Opening of Clayton Chapel
Clayton Wesley Uniting Church
280 Portrush Road, Beulah Park, SA 5067
8 December 2018 2:00pm - 4:00pm
Join us as we celebrate the reopening of the historic Clayton Chapel, an exciting arts and performance space in the heart of The Spire Community on the Parade, Norwood, based at the Clayton Wesley Uniting Church.
Built in 1856, Clayton Chapel was central to local community, over the centuries more historic buildings were added around it until what it is now....an exciting space to build a new and different community. Recently the Chapel fell into serious disrepair and a large project was undertaken to restore it to its original beauty - uncovering stained glass windows that had been hidden for decades.
There will be free performances of dance and music which will highlight the amazing acoustics of this venue, with dedications and invited speakers including the Member for Bragg, the Hon Vickie Chapman.
Hopes Café, attached to Clayton Chapel, has also undertaken extensive refurbishment and will be open from 10am until 4pm with its 'pay what you can afford' menu and providing afternoon tea for the Clayton Hall reopening. Goodies Op Shop too will be open as will the Norwood Community Creche in its new premises in the old Manse, the community garden and boat shed.
So please come and be with us at this special occasion, and come earlier if you also would like to explore the the hub of connectivity and community that is The Spire Community at Clayton Wesley Uniting Church.
