Conversations on Marriage

"The Uniting Church is currently having respectful conversations in response to same-gender marriage in Australia.

We acknowledge there is a diversity of opinion in our Church community on this topic which is reflective of the diversity of our opinions which exist in our society today. We encourage people to vote as they see fit and as they feel guided by God. The Church will consider the impact of the vote when it is forthcoming. In the meantime the Uniting Church in Australia currently understands marriage as ‘the freely given consent and commitment in public and before God of a man and a woman to live together for life’."
