Media Release - News from Uniting College for Leadership & Theology

24 Feb 2015

Following the election of Rev Prof Andrew Dutney as President of the Uniting Church in Australia, Rev Dr Steve Taylor was appointed to serve as Principal for a three year term.

That term concludes after the July Assembly meeting this year, and after some well-earned long service and study leave, Andrew Dutney shall return to the placement as Principal of Uniting College at the start of 2016.

Steve Taylor has served the College as Principal with great distinction in this time, through genuine innovation, change and growth.

While we would have loved Steve to return to a role in missiology, the Taylors have made the decision to relocate back in New Zealand for family reasons after this placement as Principal concludes. This was sad news for us, having come to love and appreciate Steve and his wife, Lynne, and daughters, Shannon and Kayli.

However, we are now pleased to announce that Steve has recently been appointed as Principal of Knox (Presbyterian) Centre for Ministry and Leadership in Dunedin, New Zealand! He shall begin there in early October.

We congratulate Steve on this wonderful appointment, and look forward to opportunities to thank him personally and officially later in the year for his service to us. We are also pleased that some connection shall be maintained with Steve through some postgraduate supervision.

Uniting College will begin the process to seek another person with skills and expertise in missiology to complement our team.

Signed,

Dr Deidre Palmer                   Rev Nigel Rogers
