Being bushfire ready
There are a significant number of Uniting Church properties including churches and manses that are located within 'high risk' bushfire prone areas. The CFS advises that:
"All people living working or travelling in the bush including those in the suburban fringe areas of Adelaide and in regional South Australia are in danger of experiencing a bushfire."
All congregations in bushfire risk zones are asked to review requirements, to have evacuation plans in place and to take property-related actions that will reduce the risks to people and property in the event of a bushfire. Further information including fact sheets is available on the CFS web site, go to CFS - Bushfire Prevention.
Fire ban information and fire warnings are advised via ABC local radio, for further information go to: ABC Emergency - Australian Broadcasting Corporation.Back to top ^
