Paul and the People's Patrol

A story from Paul Glazbrook, Parkin-Sturt Remote Ministry Patrol Pastor

Over the last 15 days l've covered over 2,800 kilometres. I visited stations east of the Stuart Highway for the first time, others west of Coober Pedy for their annual visit, then down through the Gawler Rangers, concluding at the Nonning Gymkhana.

The scriptures found in John 3:16-17 were sustaining to me as I travelled this trip; many times those verses came to mind as I found myself talking with folk.

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.

We have never seen or spoken to so many people on a patrol as we did this trip. It was truly the “People's Patrol”.

As the sun set on this patrol, it ended by sharing a service at the Wudinna Uniting Church.

The church at Wudinna is a beautiful picture of the “bride of Christ” working together as one –not in a one-off way, but every day. The three churches within this town – Anglican, Lutheran and Uniting – join together each Sunday for worship. They focus on the core values of Biblical truth, leaving the minor divisive issues alone.

At the service, I shared what our God is doing through Frontier Services and then spoke on God's Word. What a way to end this patrol!

Reflection of the Week - 16th April 2024

Don’t you wonder sometimes how our covenant Lord who is God – Creator, Master, and Teacher, can and does create from nothing and does not need anything or anyone but is helplessly in love with you?

Safe Church Screening

It’s nearly 5 years since the introduction of the Working With Childrens Check (WWCC) became a minimum requirement for those with roles of responsibility within the life of the church.
