Reflection of the Week - 23rd April 2024
While I claim no expert knowledge when it comes to sheep, I did find myself relating to Jesus in his role as the Good Shepherd in today's gospel (21st April).

The winter solstice has passed, and I look forward to more hours of daylight. The theme of darkness and light is threaded throughout scripture, from the dawn of creation, when darkness covered the earth, until God spoke light into being.
The Psalmist writes: “If I say, ‘Surely the darkness will hide me and the light become night around me,’ even the darkness will not be dark to you; the night will shine like the day, for darkness is as light to you.” (Psalm 139:11-12).
I cannot hide from the God who shines the searchlight on my every weakness. The same light of God’s love and grace, banishes the darkness of my transgressions, just as daylight banishes those night-time fears that interrupt my sleep pattern.
Prayer
Jesus, light of the world, show me the way to be a light-bearer for those who walk in the darkness of sin or suffering. This I pray in your name. Amen.
